Glass vs Plastic
Neither material wins outright. The right answer depends on the product, the process, and the channel.

Glass is inert, does not absorb or scalp flavour, resists most chemicals, looks premium, and is infinitely recyclable. It is also heavy, breakable, and more expensive to freight — which matters more as volume and distance rise.
Plastic is light, tough, and cheap to ship, available in a wide range of resins with tailored barrier properties. It can, however, absorb odours, interact with aggressive formulations, and carry a different perception on shelf.
- Glass: flavour integrity, chemical resistance, premium feel, recyclable
- Glass: heavier freight, breakage risk
- Plastic: light, durable, low freight cost, flexible formats
- Plastic: resin compatibility matters more, perception varies by category
